Hi guys,

I have, what i think, is a great idea! So here it is:

1. We create a StarWars kinda animation
2. Everyone on this site can join in.
3. there will be key 'project managers' but everyone is welcome to do what he/she wants as long sa it ties in with the project
4. Everyone participating will get their name on the project and also will have equal rights for it. e.g you can put fragenst of it into your demo-reel.
5. This will give us all a chance to show what we can do as induviduals and as a community.
6. Maybe this will attract more and more users.
7. There more users - the less work so we'll be able to get it done faster.
8. If you DO sign up then just know that you will have to contribute. If this goes ahead I'll make a list of names participating user and their roles (after consulting with you of course)

So come on! You don't have to be really good. This would be a great learning experience for all. Looking for modellers, animators and texturers.

So is anyone interested? This would be a very large-scale project if a few of you guys do decide to join. So think about it. I am open for any other suggestions or ideas.

If this gets off the ground it will be great.

I kinda had one idea like this awhile ago.. i have written.. still makin it better a story.. sci fi like.. its short story.. well.. i had the same idea but use the story as start position.. later some one else would help out and get the rest of the story.. and ofcuz animater would be needed..

all i can say is im in.. but this will be hard to keep togheter.. so i suggest one that lead.. and around 3-5 that keep things togheter.. and the rest who is intressted can come and go and help out as much as possible..

we need some kind of upload center.. where ppl can put there moddells. and animaters can get them..

That sounds like a pretty good idea but what would the starwars anoimation be of, like a battle or what? And if so then u would only need like a few ppl cos there arn't that many stawars models that u caould put all togther in one scene

Alex idea sounds very good to me ..

I have not much time .. , but for sure I can arrange and program a special section on learning-maya.com .. including posting WIP-screenshots, creating a gallery etc.

All of you are right.

UnknownAtom: If we dicede this to go head we all decide what to do. We all work out the script.

Trub: As Boris said he can create a specail section for us all. There are also plenty online file sharing services available that we can utilise.

Boris: thanks!

I figue we need at least 6 people for this so if more sign up for this we're go.

I'm open for any ideas

how about makin a forum called "LM member projects" or something like it.. within that we could have...
the starwars move. but are we sure we going to do a starwars thing..
like i said before i made script already.. i lightly suggest we use it..
but im open for other.. i could go along with the starwars thing too.. but if some who want to join but not wanne do starwars let them be heard..

thanks for the attantion Boris.. maybe you could make something on the first page saying.. "join the SW project along with other members and make history", but not until we know what to do..

here is my script
http://student.hcedu.net/wa02man/files/DharakUniverse.doc
im changing it constantly.. this is just a suggestion.. its originely meant to be used for a "open source" project like this.. but im not ready with it yet.

so.. what else.. who will lead this.. Alex_Mizin are you worthy? is there someone else who could do it... Boris? i rather assist then lead..

[edit]
i must add.. the script i made contains humen charachters.. and since that need alot of work and i cant do it yet ill havent started up that project.. thats huge deal.. and only if someone who know humen moddeling join in and can do them we can use it.. else.. go with SW or redo the the script.. hard since its mostly about the charachters...

Sounds really cool - I'd like to contribute, to the best of my ability.

Maybe you could do something along the lines of Gennady Tartakovsky's "Star Wars - Clone Wars"?

I think u should recreate the battle, i dont know what film its in or what its called cos i'm not a big star wars fan, where they have got all these small forset people in a forest/wood and they have to disable the sheild on the moon so the people ca destroy the death star.....i think, and they set a trap for the evil guys, with things such as logs and nets. I hopes someone knowes what i mean.

that would be the last movie.. dont remember the name thought..
i cant do any charachter modelling.. so i wouldnt go near anything like that right now.. but is there any one else good at it.. speak up.. we need atleast one if we are going to do a ground battle..

i can get my hands on an green screen if we need something like that.. its pretty large.. but i rather not use it..

Wow, great responce!

TruB: That's a nice script you've got there. But I was thinking more of a battle type of animation because modelling and nimationg the characters would requiere much more work.

But we can somewho use our previous models to help us out. Like you said UnknownAtom.

I don't think we need a green scree. i don't think it's going to be quite that large.

And when I said starwars I didn't mean actual StarWars. All i meant was sort of space battle scene. Spacehips can be of totally original creations.

So so far I've got:
TruB
UnknownAtom
speedingbullet

That's a good start. We need just a few more people to start. Hopefully some more of the regulars here will join us.
