i dont like the new interface with the create polygons tools... u actually have to drawn it out on the plane(like in 3ds max) then go back and set its input. rather annoying to me

I think Maya8.5 and future releases will start to make some leaps in Mayas ability to produce some astounding results in terms of dynamics anyway. To start off with you can now code with Python, not that I know how to but this is certainly an advantage. Also 8.5 has an a new inbuilt solver called Nucleus which the new nCloth is based on. I've used nCloth a little bit and it seems a lot more user friendly than MAyas current cloth from previous. You can create thyings like pressurised tyres that bounce for example and it solves more quickly as well, apparently doesn't bomb when interpenetrations occur. Because of this new intergated Nucleus framework, you'll find that future releases will base a lot of their dynamic solving around it, so look out! Fingers crossed anyway

If you've ever used Mayas previous rigid body solver, it sucks the big fat one! It dies as soon as it has any interpenetration errors which happens ALL the time! So any improvement in this area gets the big thumbs up from me.

unfortunately I´m still using 8.0

Have to upgrade as soon as possible. I´ve seen nCloth - they work great !! (much faster than the old Cloth-module)
