plane nurb animation

Hi! I`ve got a following problem. I want a plane nurb to transform in following ways. First it grows from a little rectangle to a bigger size. Than it starts to deform to a hilly landscape.




So far so good. My problem is the animation. When I set my key points for the described transformation, the hills are already there from the beginning of the animation.

First I`m setting two key points for the size changing, then one key point for the status quo and the last one for the growing hills. I don`t get the point why it doesn`t work. Have any of you a helping advice?

you should look for "blendshape"-animation in the manuals.

First, model your original plane, second the deformed one. If you now set a Blendshape-deformer you can blend (and animate) between them
